Five Signs of Malnutrition Every Parent Should Know

Malnutrition can develop gradually, which is part of what makes it dangerous — by the time it's obvious, a child's growth and immune system may already be affected.

What to watch for:

Slowed growth compared to other children the same age, low energy or reduced interest in play, thinning hair or changes in skin, frequent illness or slow recovery from common infections, and visible swelling in the feet or belly in more advanced cases.

If you notice any of these signs, bring your child to our outpatient clinic for an assessment. Early treatment makes a significant difference in long-term outcomes.
